Stretching through over 1,700 miles of countries and cities throughout Central Europe, The Danube River originates in the Black Forest of Germany and empties into the Black Sea. Second only to the longest river in Europe, the Danube passes ten (10) countries including Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Croatia, & Maldova. As for cities, the mighty Danube flows through over 90 of them including Passau, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Llok, Belgrade, Bucharest, & Russe. In addition to every bank along the Danube being a UNESCO Heritage Site, there are extensive “Danube Bike Trails”, also called Donauradweg divided among four (4) sections along the Danube River:
1) Donaueschingen - Passau (347 miles)
2) Passau – Vienna (190 miles)
3) Vienna – Budapest (190 miles), and…
4) Budapest – Black Sea (1,038 miles)
